The Iwo Jima Survivors and other World War II Veterans bravely served our country during World War II. The
National Iwo Jima Memorial Monument and Park was built by the Survivors of the Battle of Iwo Jima. It was
unveiled and dedicated on February 23, 1995, the 50th Anniversary of the historic flag raising atop Mt. Suribachi.
The monument remembers those 6,821 American servicemen who lost their lives while fighting on Iwo Jima. The
park contains an Eternal Flames which burns 24 hours a day in memory of all those who fought in World War II.
These WWII Veterans deserve to be recognized and honored before it is too late.
The Iwo Jima Memorial Historical Foundation Inc. works to raise funds to maintain and care for the memorial and
park and to present programs which remember and honor our veterans. The Monument is privately owned by
the Foundation which is run by volunteers and depends solely on donations and event proceeds to pay all of
the maintenance costs. They NEED your help to MAINTAIN this monument and to HONOR these brave veterans.
This annual Iwo Jima Survivors Victory Ride is our major Fundraiser for the year. The Foundation is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization.
